(Reading Proverbs 3, KJV 1611, during a water baptism.)

My son :

Forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

(God’s prophecy)

The Word of the Lord came unto thee this day

and you shall put your confidence in Christ, in Him at all time; and He shall be with you.

Yes, as He promised you today, yes, as we walk  obedient unto His words,

He will keep his promise to see that there is health in your bone, in your navel

as you go forth as a son of God, as a man with no fear

to tell the world, to tell men and women, yes,

what it is to be saved, sanctified,

what God is, oh, who He is,

what the kingdom of God is all about.

Oh, remember this day that the Lord, thy God, has chosen you to be a disciple of his son Jesus-Christ.
