Oh, listen to the Word of God!
Listen to what God placed in the heart of Jesus on a certain day,
in order to demonstrate to this race of vipers, to this race of serpents, yes.
Yes, listen to the Word of God which came out of Christ, yes, of the son of man, of the son of God, on that day;
for here is how was the Word of God:
While Jesus was talking with a Pharisee yes who invited him to dine with him.
Jesus went in his house, and sat down at the table.
Yes, the Pharisee saw with astonishment that he had not washed himself before the meal,
but the Lord said unto him: “You, Pharisees, you make clean the outside of the cup and the platter,
but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
Ye fools! The One who made what’s outside hasn’t he also made what’s inside?
Instead give alms of what’s inside, and then, all things will be pure for you.
Oh, but that is how the anger of God, yes, lifted up one level higher.
But woe unto you, Pharisees!
because you make sure to pay tithe of mint, while you neglect to practice justice and the love of God:
this is what you had to practice, without omitting the other things. Woe unto you, Pharisees! Yes!
because you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues,
and the greetings in public places.
Yes! Woe unto you!
because you are as graves which appear not,
and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him:
Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also. And he said:
Woe unto you also, ye lawyers!
for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne,
and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Woe unto you!
for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and of the saints of today, ah! and your fathers killed them.
Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers:
for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
Therefore also said the wisdom of God:
I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world,
may be required of this generation;
from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple:
yes I say unto you, it shall be required of you today
and it shall also be required of this generation.
Woe unto you, lawyers! Yes!
for ye have taken away the key of knowledge.
Ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began
to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
Ahhh! But Jesus said this to his brothers:
“Go ahead and assist this feast! My hour is not reached yet, but your hour is always there.” ♦
