(Reading in First Peter 3, during a water baptism.)
For he that will love life, and see good days,
let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:
but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
This son of God is an example for us today since the birth from the womb of his mother.
Oh yes, the Lord prepared this son of God for such a day as today, for a moment as this hour of happiness and of mercy,
so that he may really be covered with the Spirit of God
and so that he leaves this water, coming out of the water, oh yes, protected by the Spirit of God
and so that nobody can actually make him into a type of Galatian,
yes who had lost the wit, yes who had become against God not obeying the truth.
What you received today, practice it and all these words will be your upholding.
All these words will be your upholding, my son. ♦
