(Reading Philippians 4, during a water baptism.)

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say: “Rejoice!”

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing, but in every thing let your requests be made known unto God

by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,

and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren,

whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,

whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report,

if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

These things, which ye have both learned, and received,

and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

____________

(Reading Second Timothy 2.)

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou

to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus-Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;

that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

____________

(Reading Isaiah 43.)

For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:

therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

Fear not: for I am with thee.

____________

(God’s prophecy.)

The Lord brought you closer to Him in order to have you as a tool to announce unto others, yes, what the Lord made out of you,

so that they too, yes, will have the zeal to turn around as you have done it yourself.

Go without fear, for He promised to be with you,

yes, because you are a disciple of our Lord Jesus-Christ today.
